Chain Lakes Gas Co-op Scholarship Program
Investing in the Future of Our Members
At Chain Lakes Gas Co-op, we believe in supporting the next generation of leaders, tradespeople, professionals, and community builders. Our Scholarship Program is designed to help students and apprentices pursue their educational goals while recognizing the value of community involvement and Co-op membership.
Each year, two scholarships of $1,500 are awarded to eligible applicants continuing their education through an accredited Alberta institution.
Scholarship Eligibility
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Be an active Chain Lakes Gas Co-op member or the child of an active member
- Membership must be in good standing for a minimum of one year
- Be accepted into, or currently attending:
- a degree program
- diploma program
- certificate program
- apprenticeship program
- Attend an accredited institute of learning in Alberta
- Be enrolled or planning to enroll on a full-time basis
- Provide proof of program acceptance or attendance
Please note:
- Applicants may only receive the scholarship once in their lifetime.
Scholarship Awards
Each year:
- Two (2) scholarships valued at $1,500 each will be awarded
- Scholarships are granted annually by Chain Lakes Gas Co-op
- Successful applicants will be notified no later than November 1st
- Only successful applicants will be contacted
Selection Process
Applications are reviewed by a committee appointed by the Board of Directors. Selection is based on several factors, including:
- Completeness of application
- Applicant eligibility
- A 500-word written essay
- Two reference letters
- Proof of program enrollment or progress
The committee carefully reviews all submissions to ensure recipients demonstrate commitment, ambition, and community values aligned with the Co-op spirit.
